Malcolm is a musician and composer, based in the UK, who works primarily for feature films and television.
UK tv viewing figures for recent productions Malcolm has contributed to are over 100 million. His television music credits include prime time dramas One Night (BBC 1), Whitechapel II (ITV), Unforgiven (ITV), The Children (ITV), Mysterious Creatures (Ch 4), In Love with Barabara (BBC2), Sherlock Holmes (BBC1) and the final series of Taggart (ITV/STV). Malcolm has worked on a number of high profile documentaries including Civilisation with Niall Ferguson (Ch 4) and Mountain with Griff Rhys Jones (BBC1), as well as a wide range of programmes for all the major channels including two series for Discovery. In June 2009 he received a Royal Television Society Award for his score for the ITV drama series Unforgiven, which also won Best Drama of 2009. His film music credits include award winning films: Exodus, Blinded, 16 Years of Alcohol and Young Adam which starred Ewan McGregor / Tilda Swinton and involved a collaboration with David Byrne. Malcolm is also an established classical composer whose work has been performed internationally, noteably by some of the world's leading players in the Moscow Ensemble. He has also worked for a number of theatre productions and his ventures in jazz earned him recognition from the world renowned Sennheiser. In 2008 Malcolm collaborated with established artist Robert Fischer, who fronts the Willard Grant Conspiracy, on the 'exceptional' (Uncut magazine) album Pilgrim Road. |
